The Crucifucks - Wisconsin
Una muy buena y antigua banda punk de la escena de Michigan (USA), ligada a Jello Biafra y Alternatives Tentacles y cercana a la actitud punk de Dave Dictor (M.D.C.) Los Crucifucks nacen en 1982, con la intención de esgrimir sus escupitajos líricos y musicales contra la violencia institucional de E.E.U.U., los grupos de extrema derecha religiosa y al "muñeco" de turno, Ronald Reagan. Su particular sonido punk rock, es fomentado por la especial forma de gritar y cantar de su vocalista: Doc Corbin, también por algunos pasajes de instrumentalización folk , que será más notoria en el disco "Wisconsin". Su primer álbum es un despliegue de punk rock con toques hardcore old school, posteriormente irán imbricando sonidos folk, texturas cercanas a la neo-psicodelia, noise, algo de la corriente "no wave". El sonido de lp. "Winsconsin" emplea una buena dosis de punk rock "muy Crucifucks" que puede asemejarse un tanto a las búsquedas musicales de Rites of Spring, P.I.L, Raincoats, los primeros discos de Dead Milkmen, punk rock tipo Artistic Decline y la veta vocal neurótica del fallecido cantante de Scratch Acid (sólo en el despliegue escénico histriónico), pues la voz del vocalista de Crucifucks ( en algunos temas de Wisconsin) se asemeja a una "vieja bruja y hippie" embriagada con Ron Silver (investigar). Un interesante,armónico-desarmónico, rabioso,sentimental, ruidoso y a veces pegado disco, para mi gusto personal, que luego es reeditado como álbum doble ("Our will be done" de 1995) junto a su primera producción, "The Crucifucks" (1985). La banda estuvo activa cerca de 14 años, luego se reunirán en algunas ocasiones como en uno de los aniversarios del sello Alternative Tentacles. Su baterista, Steve Shelley, uno de los miembros fundadores de Crucifucks, pasa a formar parte de Sonic Youth (alrededor del tiempo en que aparece "Bab Moon Rising" de 1985) reemplazando al batero Bob Bert.

THE REVEREND HORTON HEAT -discografia
El hombre que en los 90 dio un nuevo giro de tuerca al rockabilly, revolucionando el rockin' en EEUU, y por extensión, al resto del mundo. Un tal Jim Heath, más conocido como the Reverend Horton Heat .
El trío empezó en 1987 a dar largas giras de 200 a 300 conciertos por año, su prticular estilo y sus incendiarias actuaciones les hicieron conseguir toda una legión de fans. Ese mismo año registraron su primer grabación para el disco recopilatorio The Sound of Deep Ellum. Tras un concierto en Seattle, fueron fichados por el sello indie Sub Pop, famoso poco después por contra en sus filas con estrellas del movimiento grunge como Mudhoney y, sobre todo, Nirvana. Su primer álbum, disponible en LP y CD, se edita en 1990, su título Smoke'em if you Got'em. Originalmente grabado en 24 pistas, pagadas por Sub Pop, no fue del agrado de nuestro protagonista, que lo rechazó y regrabó todos los temas en un 2 pistas en un sólo fin de semana. Tuvo buena distribución y fue fácil hacerse con una copia. Su contenido era distinto a todo lo que habíamos oído anteriormente, era rockabilly con mucha influencia del country, surf, rock americano, y algo de psychobilly europe, tocado por un gran guitarrista, un contrabajista de frenético slap y un batería que usaba el doble bombo. Además, con una voz que no podía negar sus orígenes tejanos. "Marijuana", "Bad Reputation", "Bullet"... empezaban a convertirse en los favoritos de la audiencia rockera.Por los USA telonean a grupos del prestigio de sus admirados Cramps, o sus colegas y compañeros de juerga Social Distortion, así como otros conciertos en los que son cabezas de cartel. sigue su historia con idas y vultas sakna discos se van del subpop muchas giras muchos rockin .disfrutenlo.

The Psychedelic Sounds of Thirteen Floor Elevators
13th Floor Elevators fue una banda psicodélica de mediados de los años 60, formada en diciembre de 1965 en Austin, Texas, Estados Unidos. Son reconocidos como la primera banda en emplear el término psicodelia en un álbum y el primer grupo musical en implementar el efecto de las drogas a sus canciones. Tuvieron un éxito temprano con el single «You're Gonna Miss Me» al que siguió el álbum The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators (1966). La banda se desintegró tras publicarse Bull of the Woods, disco en el cual Roky Erickson tan solo canta en tres de las pistas. La ruptura fue debida a que Roky fue condenado por posesión de drogas (marihuana) y para evadir una larga estancia en la cárcel se declaró mentalmente incapacitado y se le recluyó por tres años en el hospital psiquiátrico Rusk State Hospital. La banda siguió grabando Bull of the Woods sin su presencia, como hizo Pink Floyd con la ausencia de Syd Barrett.

Supieron conjugar el primitivo rockabilly y el garage de los'60s, basándose en un sonido muy característico, marcado por la guitarra fuzz de Poison Ivy y la inconfundible voz de Lux Interior. Todo mezclado con una estética entre película de serie B, sexo masoquista y mucho glamour cutre de Las Vegas. El psychobilly sería impensable sin ellos y su revisión del rock & roll de los 50´s será la principal influencia del futuro revival rockabilly y el garage de los 80.

Surgidos en la época punk pero practicantes de un excitante y desgarrado pop, estos escoceses aposentaban su música en el desarrollo de un potencial sonoro similar al de los Ramones, recuperando sonidos pretéritos expuestos con frenéticos ritmos.The Rezillos se formaron en 1976 en la ciudad de Edinburgo. ESPECIAL SELLO DISCHORDS RECORDS
Dischord Records es un sello discográfico independiente fundado en 1980 por Ian MacKaye, Jeff Nelson y Nathan Strejcek en Washington, D.C., con el propósito de trabajar e impulsar la emergente escena local de punk, hardcore y post-hardcore del este de Estados Unidos. Historia La historia de Dischord Records está estrechamente ligada a la de la banda de punk rock Minor Threat. En 1980, la banda de hardcore The Teen Idles, formada por Ian MacKaye y Jeff Nelson, se desintegra y ambos deciden crear un sello discográfico con el que comenzar desde el principio. Mackaye, Nelson y Strejcek fundan, en 1980, Dischord Records para autodistribuirse los discos de la recién creada banda de Mackaye y Nelson, Minor Threat. Esta banda sólo permaneció tres años en los escenarios, pero su legado es evidente. Tan sólo un álbum, Out of Step, tres EP's y unos cuantos discos recopilatorios bastaron para que Minor Threat iniciara una inagotable corriente de bandas hardcore y straight edge, siendo uno de los propulsores de ambos subgéneros del punk. En el hardcore, Minor Threat forma parte de los "tres grandes" junto a Black Flag y Bad Brains. Una nueva banda había surgido y, a pesar de su corta duración, había dejado todo un futuro a Dischord. Entre el catálogo de Dischord estaban bandas como Government Issue, The Faith, Void, Youth Brigade, Iron Cross, Embrace, Rites of Spring, Nation of Ulysses, Scream, Soulside, Gray Matter, Jawbox, Marginal Man, Shudder to Think, Dag Nasty, Lungfish y Fugazi. Eran varias las discográficas independientes del momento que trabajaban en la escena hardcore como Alternative Tentacles, SST Records, y Touch & Go Records, pero cada nuevo lanzamiento de Dischord era muy esperado por los seguidores del género, caracterizado por la ética hazlo tú mismo (DIY, en inglés "Do It Yourself" ). A finales de los años 80 surgen los primeros grupos emo y post-hardcore, con bandas a la cabeza como Rites of Spring, Embrace y Fugazi, todas ellas bandas de Dischord. En la actualidad, el sello continúa trabajando con nuevos grupos de la escena punk y hardcore, sobre todo de Washington, D.C. y ha ampliado sus miras fijándose en bandas de otros subgéneros derivados como el dance-punk y el post-punk revival como Q and Not U, Beauty Pill, Antelope, Faraquet, Medications, Black Eyes y The Aquarium.

The Casualties son una banda de hardcore streetpunk originaria de Nueva York que se formó a principios de los años 90, los temas de esta banda son con temas politicos. Esta es una de las principales representantes del hardcore punk, y han realizado giras en diferentes lugares, desde México hasta Japón. el grupo en sus principios tocaba punk rock como se muestra claramente en su tema punk rock love, con el paso del tiempo la voz de Jorge realiza mas gritos y las guitarras mas frías llegando a lo que son ahora, una de las bandas hardcore punk más conocidas de los últimos tiempos.Del año 2007 al 2008 la banda realizó una gira por sudamérica, una de las mas esperadas por seguidores latinos.

De Nashville Tennessee surge esta banda formada en 1998 Th' Legendary Shack Shakers, una cuarteto originalmente de Rockabilly, posteriormente retoma elementos del R N' R, Punk, Country y Blues para enriquecer su sonido, una propuesta interesante que los lleva ser reconocidos rápidamente en la escena Norteamericana y alternar con bandas de la talla del Reverend Horton Heat. Con ellos nació el "emocore". Dicho de otro modo, Fugazi pulieron el hard core hasta llevarlo al terreno de la emotividad. Crearon una música inteligente, que no cedía a convencionalismos o premisas comerciales, que proclamaba su desdén por el corporativismo o el capitalismo, pero que mostraba también un lado humano. "Repeater", su disco de debut, era intenso, crudo, estimulante. Y no tardó en convertirse en obra de culto: hizo que Fugazi se ganara una importante legión de fieles seguidores en todo el mundo e inspirara a grupos como Rage Against The Machine y demas bandas que hasta el dia de hoy los nombran como su banda de cabezera.

Jon Spencer Blues Explosion: Orange (1996)
Muchos creen que la música de Jon Spencer Blues Explosion tiene poco que ver con el blues. Toma elementos del género, sí, pero los pasa por el tamiz de la transgresión hasta convertirlos en un original sonido anárquico en el que caben influencias rockabilly, punk, garage, funk... "Orange" es el mejor ejemplo del estilo creado por el ex-líder de Pussy Galore y su gente: aquí la Blues Explosion es pura vitalidad. Aunque hubo quien lo vio como una tomadura de pelo postmoderna, el disco llevó al trío a la fama y se situó entre lo mejor del rock alternativo de los 90.
